I took my eleven-year-old daughter into town for a girl’s time together. We planned to get her hair done, eat dinner, and see a movie. After her hair was styled, we returned to the car to find a flat tire. I couldn’t reach my husband because he was going to a neighbor’s house where there is no range on his cell phone. I tried everyone I could think of and finally had to just call the tire shop to come and tow us to get the tire fixed.
They towed us, but couldn’t get us right in and we ended up having to wait…and wait…and wait. Thank goodness I had my Kindle!
Luckily, the place had wi fi and I was able to download a couple of good books for kids. We chose one, which we read together as we waited…and waited…and waited. It was unbelievable how long it took just get a tire fixed, but we ended up having so much fun reading together. We laughed, talked about interesting things we read, and just loved the book we had chosen.
Even though our outing didn’t go as we had planned (we ended up missing the movie), we had a wonderful time together. One of those times we will remember forever.
