Gaps Diet: Recipes for Food Allergies

Medical research has shown that there is a possible connection between our diet and some psychological dysfunctions. Conditions like ADHD, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and autism can be related to a poor diet and an unhealthy gut. Other medical conditions which may be affected from a poor diet are gluten intolerance, food sensitivities, eczema and asthma. Many of these disorders are affecting our children, therefore parents are beginning to educate themselves more on what to avoid and how their families can Eat Nourishing. Real food that is nutritious is important for health and for a healthy gut. You will not find processed, starched, bleached or genetically modified ingredients in real food. Real food is natural and not altered or compromised by the food industry or science. Medical conditions that are common today were not as prevalent just a few decades ago. The primary cause is because of the change in our diet and this is due to the food industry.

Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride created the GAPS diet. GAPS stands for gut and psychology syndrome. This diet is based on the idea that a healthy gut and a balance of gut flora is essential for not only an intestinal tract that functions properly, but also for the nourishment of the body and the brain. To achieve a gut that has a healthy balance of gut flora, grains and processed foods need to be avoided as the gut cannot digest those things. Many things affect the gut flora. Medication, foods, infections and stress are just several of the things that affect the flora of the gut. Gaps diet recipes that stay true to the gaps diet plan will help balance out the beneficial, transitional and harmful gut flora. This is the primary way that foods can be digested and assimilated by our bodies.

Cat Food 101

Cat food helps give that kitten or cat energy. That is why everyone needs to use Cat Food Coupons. I know a lot of people go for the cheap stuff. When you buy the cheap stuff it may not be good for your kitten. Cats have strange unpredictable and weird stomachs. If you buy the good stuff then your cat won’t get ill as often. Cats can get sour stomachs. Believe or not, when the cat eats stuff that has artificial coloring in it that is not good. IT can really hurt them. Scientist had to come out with something that will help our cat friends.

You think you get a deal when buying cheap stuff? You are not. Be prepared for your cat not to live a long life. How sad would that be? I would cry if my cat died. Remember to get good food. I love my cat.

How to Make Sushi – Nigiri (Finger) Sushi

Nigiri Sushi is different with other sushi because it is not rolled at all. This sushi recipe has only three ingredients required. It’s fast and easy to make and serves as a very satisfying meal.

Delicious Sushil for All

I feel truly lucky that I have a friend who knows how to make her own cooked Sushi, because I absolutely love it. I love going out for Sushi, but it doesn’t always fit into the budget, so I have to hold back on it sometimes. But Sarah makes the best rolls that I have ever tasted, even better than the ones at the local store that I go to. Last Saturday she had people over and she put on a Sushi-making exhibition of sorts, making new rolls that most of us had never even heard of much less been able to taste. We sat around the dinner table throwing stories at each other from the past and laughing the night away; it made me realize how much I miss my friends and how much I hope Sarah continues to host these special nights. We’re finally on a track where all of our schedules pretty much line up, so this could become tradition.

Southern Fried Chicken

Chicken recipes are popular with a lot of people. Lots of internet users search for the best recipes and South Fried Chicken is one of the favourites. Here are some tips and what you need to make the perfect chicken meal.

You’ll need 2 eggs, liquid flavourings, 2 to 3 pounds of chicken and 2 cups of flour. These are just the basics and you can use some herbs and spices to spruce up the meal. You will need to cut up the chicken in your first step.

After this you will need to start heating your oil. There are different methods of cooking. If you own a deep fryer, use the manufactures instructions to know how to fill the device accordingly. When you use a stove top use a deep pot and fill one third with oil.

After this mix the eggs with water, and liquid flavourings if you are using them. Whip this all together with spices, salt and pepper. When this is complete you can dip the chicken in the mixture. You then place the chicken in the hot oil. For about 15 minutes cover and fry until they are golden. You can then sprinkle the chicken with salt and flavourings.

Hot Tomato Soup

It is nice to start our dinner with a soup but some of us are sick and tired of having the same kind of soup every night. To give our tongue a new taste, let me share with you a tomato soup with a twist. I have different vegan recipes for soup but my family loves this one.

This is really easy. We’ll just peel 500 grams of ripe tomatoes, cut them into halves then remove the seeds before chopping. On low heat, melt two tablespoons of margarine then sauté one piece of chopped red onion. Sauté that until the onion change its color so the sweet flavor of it will mix with the margarine. Add the tomatoes and salt and pepper to taste. Pour five cups of water and half cup of rice. This soup will really taste good if you’re going to use the water where you rinse your rice. Add some chopped parsley, one bay leaf and 1/8 teaspoon of thyme. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes or until the rice is cooked. Remove the bay leaf and serve hot.
